      Soak skewers for a few minutes and put the shrimp (and whatever else you want) on the skewers. You soak the skewers so they won’t burn up. You know, dry wood, fire?… Anyway, season the shrimp, marinate them, do whatever you want. They cook pretty fast so don’t walk away and watch the game. spraying the grill might not be a bad idea, but if the shrimp is marinated or oiled itself, it might not be too bad if you don’t spray the grill. Don’t spray the grill while it’s on the fire! Having the flames leap backward up to the aerosol can and having it explode in your hand could put a damper on the day’s festivities.

      Actually I’ve seen people spear the shrimp with sprigs of seasoning like oregano, etc. You have to get whole, long sprigs of oregano, but you might be able to find them at stores that have a lot of ethinic foods. There’s also a new product of wood skewers that are pre-seasoned. You stick them in the meat or shrimp and they give it a nice flavor all the way through.
