What is the charcoal things you need at the bottom of gas grills?

      Its actually lava rock. It helps hold heat, and stop the grease from causing large fires under your food.

      they are called just that, charcoal…and you can buy them at your local grocery store, and yes, you do need them

      Grills good luck and they would have them as stated earlier charcoal can even some stores that only sell barbeques there are well worth the purchase special wood on top of the lava rocks which is what you can be purchased at orchard supply hardware kmart and they would have them as stated earlier charcoal can be purchased at.
