William F asked:

I have an old gas grill next to my house that is connected to a gas line from the house. There is a shut-off valve outside. I need to cut this line and cap it so I can remove the old grill completely. The gas company said they don’t do work on my side of the meter. Can I do this myself? How? Or should I call a professional? Who would I call?

Crackah asked:

The noise sounds like it’s coming from the regulator on the grill side of the hook up. I just had the tank filled yesterday, and it was working without any noise right before that. It gets louder the higher up I turn the gas on the grill. Is it normal?
By the way, I have already checked for a leak. No leak in the connection, or anywhere for that matter.
It only makes the noise when the gas is on. No leaks, I’ve already checked.

My husband went to fire up the grill last night and found 5 or 6 roaches living in our gas grill! Do we need to get rid of the grill or is there something we can do?
They are hiding in all sorts of crevices in the grill. We fired it up and they did not de - believe it or not one ran out AFTER we had it on for an hour!

We have a family debate going on, does bacteria get killed in the grilling process and does it taste better if the grill has been “broken in” not unlike an iron frying pan?

Just graduated from college and this is my first time bar-b-q’ing without my buddies, and usually it was me and another drunk guy at a party.

But now? I actually want to know what everybody does to ensure they light their charcoal grill properly so that it catches and keeps going.

enjoy_incubus87 asked:

It has a full tank hooked up to it and I hear the gas hiss when I turn the knob to “light”. The grill has 4 knobs, one for each tray of briquettes. There are about 30 briquettes per tray. The starter is a knob that is supposed to cause a spark to ignite the grill. It hasn’t worked yet. Any suggestions? Please be thorough.

I just bought a new charcoal grill- previously all of my BBQ’ing has been with propane. I’m venturing out using real wood charcoal and don’t know how to tell when the charcoal is ready to use, or how to light it adequately.

HELP!!

My 20 year old large charcoal barbecue has given up the ghost. Seems that most people prefer charcoal grilling (as I do) but there is nothing decent on the market. I have hunted high and low for a nice new modern one but to no avail. It seems that the only charcoal barbecues on sale nowadays are tabletops or hibachis. I live in Canada but am quite prepared to buy from the US if necessary.

I bought a house a few months ago that had an outdoor gas grill that was worn out but still worked. The problem was that the gas leaked and I had it disconnected. Now, I want to take apart the grill and not have it anymore.
